Is there another celebrity divorce in the making? According to a story grinded by Kwame06, Al Reynolds and Star Jones fairy tale romance may be coming to an end soon.
“Star is planning to divorce Al,” a source tells the Enquirer. “I think Star felt Al had spent their marriage riding her success while she did all the heavy lifting. She resented it. Deep down, Star is a very old-fashioned woman who believes a man should support her emotionally, physically and financially. She now believes Al failed her.”
If this is true, would this come as a surprise to anyone? From the start, it appeared as if Al Reynolds had ulterior motives when asking for her hand in marriage. The investment banker met Star at an Alicia Keys concert and a few months later proposed to her during the fourth quarter of a 2004 All Star Game. If that wasn’t convincing enough that he may be a potential attention whore, Star and Al abused her celebrity status when they decided to have a corporate-sponsored wedding with over $1 million in freebies in exchange for Star plugging the sponsors on "The View" and her website. Who sells their wedding to the highest bidder?? Pegged one of the most outrageous celebrity weddings, the union put the two in a negative light and was deemed tacky by numerous media outlets.
Wait, there's more. Throughout the three year marriage, Star has had to fight off rumors that her husband lived a questionable lifestyle with stories of him being “gay” spreading across the internet and through tabloids. I’m not sure if he married her for love but it seems to me, as if he may be filling in the role of a high-class escort with his main duties being: 1) “acting like you are in love” and 2) making public appearances.
