For weeks, television viewers suffered through a writer's strike with only reality TV to comfort us. During the strike, the political race swung into high gear and many news channels tried their hands at comedy writing. It was the best they could do, it wasn't like we had a new "Saturday Night Live" to watch or anything. I'm sure the writers were itching to get back just to talk about Clinton and Obama's slap-boxing match.
The first show upon SNL's return was hosted by former head-writer Tina Fey. I'm sure as a nod to all the writers out there. Tina appeared on the "Weekend Update" segment and comments on Hillary Clinton's "***" image. Fey ends with saying, "*** is the new Black." The very next week, Former cast member Tracy Morgan made an appearance on the same segment with his own spin on the campaign. He closed his segment by declaring, "*** may be the new Black but Black is the new President ***."
In the post here, Global Grind members immediately championed Morgan's direct hit on Tina Fey. MiLyfe commented, "TRACY FOR PRESIDENT!!" while churchlady noticed that "There's a lot of truth revealed being told in a joke." Even if you didn't agree with Tracey Morgan, you have to admit that it was F-U-N-N-Y. I'm curious though, which candidate's sketch did you like the most? -Tanspot
