It's a sad story that we've all seen too many times. A young black athlete with all the talent and physical gifts in the world wastes their career over nonsense. Pacman Jones and Zab Judah are both at a career crossroads with one last chance to prove that they've got their act together. Sadly, one of them will most likely fall by the wayside and fade from the national spotlight.
Two of the most intriguing sports stories of this week were posted by GG users Sensation, and realerthanlife. Sensation shared the story of Pacman Jones visiting Michael Irvin in an attempt to repair his knucklehead image. Pacman is finally close to being reinstated into the NFL after a string of arrests and incidents that have kept him off the field for over a year. Pacman's pleas that he's a changed man don't exactly seem sincere, especially since he was scheduled to host a "GreyGoose" party (image link here) where they promised to "make it rain."
In case you've forgotten, it was parties like these that got Pacman suspended in the first place after a man ended up paralyzed from gunfire. This idiot truly doesn't get it... STAY OUT OF THE CLUB!!!!
Realerthanlife shared the story of Zab Judah, who is facing a must win fight against Sugar Shane Mosley. Zab's career has been a colossal waste due to his lazy work ethic, apathetic attitude, and penchant for parties. If Zab Judah spent half as much time training for fights and studying his opponents, he'd be considered one of the best boxers of our generation. Instead he's hanging onto his career as a marquee fighter by a thread, a loss against Sugar Shane will thrust him into "bolivian" (shout out to Mike Tyson!!).
In a perfect world, Pacman Jones would get his act together and lead a productive career from here on out, and Zab Judah would knock out his next opponent. However, we don't live in a perfect world and I'm willing to bet money one of these guys are going to screw up. So which one of these guys do you think will return to glory? Who's more likely to screw up again, Pacman or Judah?
