Am I the only one that is tired of female rappers having to shoot someone, or serve jail time to make it in the industry? Instead of setting a positive example, most of them feel like they have to serve jail time just to gain some street credibility and stay relevant.
In a story grinded by Ryan517, Foxy Brown was set free on Friday after serving 8 months in prison for violating her probation. And as if we weren’t already rolling our eyes at her wanting to receive fan fare as she exited the jail, she tells MTV News that the hardest part of being in prison was being without her false nails and hair weaves.
“While I was incarcerated… It was just me. I had no nails on. It was just literally me in the flesh. I guess that was the hardest part, just even with Foxy trying to find Inga."
Let’s not forget that Foxy served 76 days in solitary confinement while serving time which I would have considered being “hard”, but life without weaves and hair glue? Is she serious?
Ironically, serving time has opened up a world of opportunities for Foxy as she is currently in works with the VH1 network to star in her own reality show. Just as I started to have a little faith that VH1 would one day save us from the coonery, they may just bring Foxx Boogie to a TV screen near you. Why wouldn’t they? She fits the stereotypical “black woman gone mad” role that most networks have decided to pigeon hole African American women in. I’m sure the network considers throwing a blackberry upside someone’s head and assaulting a nail tech as good TV.
