I am one of the biggest advocates of black celebrity couples as I feel as though they are neglected in the limelight except when it comes to news that they are splitting. This week news broke that both Swizz Beats and his wife, followed by Star Jones and Al Reynolds were filing for divorce. I was pushing for Swizz and his wife Mashonda to stay together but who didn’t know that Star would one day find some self worth and divorce her high priced escort in the form of Al Reynolds?
Speaking of self worth, in a story grinded by Black Womens Web, Kim Porter was spotted back with Diddy over the weekend, first lunching at a restaurant and later at the Victoria Beckham’s A-list birthday party. The author of the post stated that Kim Porter was pride-less with the caption “This is what no self Esteem looks like”. Although most of the black blogesphere has been very vocal about Kim’s decision to hang on to Diddy for 10 years with no promise of a ring, Global grind member MiLyfe <> decided they had had enough with the Kim Porter bashing.

Although I do agree that if Kim Porter wants to stand by Diddy even though he has continuously made her play the fool for years, then it’s her business. However, you can’t knock anyone for hoping she will one day wake up and realize she’s worth more than being a baby mama. A sideline chick. A Bottom B (you can fill in the rest) and so on. Over the years Diddy has had a public relationship with Jennifer Lopez, as well as courted actress Sierra Miller while Kim Porter played her roll on the sidelines. Let's not forget the baby that Diddy had by an Atlanta woman around the same time that Kim Porter dropped twins. Diddy is treating Kim Porter like a convenient store and she’s making herself look silly as she is open to his becking call 24/7. In a nutshell, she's good enough to have his babies, but it will be a cold day in hell before she claims the title of his wife.
Atleast, Star Jones finally woke up and realized she was worth more than Al Reynolds could ever offer. We are secretly hoping that Kim Porter will one day do the same. Unfortunately that day will probably never happen…
