For the past few weeks, the buzz on the streets has been about the public spectacle and what people may consider "publicity stunt" of Mariah and Nick Cannon's wedding, but let's turn the tables to the new Bonnie and Clyde. Have Remy Ma and Papoose been watching too many "Ride or Die" movies?
In a story grinded by me, Papoose and Remy Ma's wedding was called off after Papoose (whom I've affectionately named Gecko) tried to smuggle a handcuff key into the facilities. He was immediately thrown out and banned from being able to see Remy Ma for the next six months. At first I was thinking, Papoose is really going hard for his chick. Just a few months back, Fat Joe claimed he gave Papoose a knuckle sandwich after Remy Ma disrespected him far too many times. This was actually the first, that the public had even heard of the two together.
Now month's later, he puts together some sort of plan to break her out of jail the day before her sentencing? Something just didn't sound right...
Did Papoose, perhaps, get cold feet and decide to smuggle a key into the jail--that he knew they'd find--so that he wouldn't have to go through with the wedding? Doesn't everyone know the level of security and amount of metal detectors that you have to pass through to get into a correction facility? It's just as bad as the airport. Or maybe this is just all a publicity stunt for Papoose who hasn't had any type of relevance since he and Fat Joe duked it out earlier this year. What does Papoose do again?
Unfortunately, through all the spectacle, Remy Ma saw her fate the next day as the judge sentenced her to eight years in prison.
She stood in front of the judge and wept:
“I stand here today as Remy Mackie (referring to Papoose’s last name) “I’m a loving wife, mother and loving daughter and loving sister to my brothers and sisters.”
Remy also addressed (the "friend" she shot) Barnes-Joseph. “I apologize for not saving you from your physical and mental scars.” Girl give me a break! Did Remy forget she almost took her friend out over some money? Meanwhile, outside the courtroom, Papoose got into some sort of scuffle with a correction officer and was heard screaming: “Get the f*ck off me. F*ck ya’ll. F*ck jail. “I don’t care. Lock me up. Lock me up. Take me to jail. Arrest me. It’s all about money.”
Sounds like Papoose had to hold on to that three seconds of fame he had left after he exhausted all his options with Rem. What's next, him sleeping with Lil Kim while they both direct a diss record at Remy. I'm sorry, that was cute but I'm not buying it…
